Victoria "Tori" Madlein Carney of Rose Hill Drive, New Cumberland was arrested Wednesday and charged with 19 counts of possessing child pornography and one count of criminal use of a communication facility — all felonies, according to the AG's release.
Her arrest comes on the heels of an investigation by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force after ICAC received a Cybertip from X Corp (previously known as Twitter) about the user "Disgusting Mama", according to the affidavit.
Investigators later were able to track the user to the email address “disgustingmommy@gmail.com” which led them to Carney's IP address.
A warranted search was conducted at her parents' home where she lived with her 9-year-old son. On June 26, officials found 19 images on her devices, 17 were of "prepubescent minors", and one was of an infant, as detailed in the affidavit.
After she was read her rights and taken in for a recorded interview with investigators she admitted to going to websites to read sexual fantasy stories involving young children — but she denied any knowledge of the email address, Twitter/X account, or having sexual images on her devices, as officials explained in the affidavit.
“This proactive investigation of online file-sharing allegedly uncovered a cache of disturbing files depicting very young children,” Attorney General Henry said. “My office is committed to finding predators who lurk in online forums and seek to exploit our most vulnerable citizens, children.”
Carney's preliminary arraignment was heard before Judge Joseph Spadaccino at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, as detailed in her court docket. Her bail was set at $250,000 which she failed to post so she remains in the York County Prison until her preliminary hearing which is also set before Judge Spadaccino at 1 p.m. on July 15.
